Billions of plastic bottles go into landfills every year. Our ECOLUX®, ECOSPACE® and ECOLYTE® fabrics are created with REPREVE™ Recycled Poly. So far, REPREVE™ has saved over 10 Billion bottles from ending up in landfills. Utilizing recycled poly offsets using new petroleum, emitting fewer greenhouse gases and conserving water and energy in the process.
Our ECOSKYN® & ECOFLOW® fabrics are made with organically grown, sustainably harvested bamboo in a closed-loop system.
As a renewable resource, bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth. and can be harvested in one to five years, compared to hardwoods which take at least forty years to mature before they can be harvested. Almost 1 million acres of forests are lost each week worldwide to deforestation. Bamboo's versatility as a substitute for hardwoods offers a chance to drastically reduce that figure and protect the forests that we have left. Bamboo also absorbs carbon dioxide and releases 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than an equivalent stand of hardwood trees.
As a natural cellulose fiber, bamboo will completely biodegrade in soil by microorganism and sunshine. The average person discards about 80 pounds of clothing annually, which ads up to over 10 million tons sent to landfills. Creating biodegradable, plant-based garments can greatly help reduce this waste.
